Kocharyan gave details of the meeting with the Catholicos on the subject of the return of captives

Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs of the National Assembly, gave details about the meeting with the Catholicos of All Armenians. "Arman Babajanyan had graduated from the seminary, and I offered to accompany him to the Reverend Father because he had something to say and a request for the Reverend Father."
He said that he suggested to the Catholicos that he should ask the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople to organize the mediation of the leaders of Turkey regarding the return of the captives. "I knew that the patriarch could make such a request."
