On September 24, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, in New York as part of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, issues of continuous interaction between Armenia and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights were discussed.
The Office's involvement in protecting human rights and establishing stable regional peace was emphasized.
Reference was made to the steps taken by the RA government to address the needs of the forcibly displaced Armenian population from Nagorno Karabakh, as well as to the cooperation formed with international partners for this purpose.
Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed the Republic of Armenia's vision to establish lasting peace and stability in the region, including efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and its approaches to critical issues.
