On September 24, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Ararat Mirzoyan and Radoslav Sikorsky discussed regional security and stability issues, including the latest developments in and around the South Caucasus.
Minister Mirzoyan presented RA's vision regarding the continuity of the democratic path, economic development, and ensuring interconnection with a broader geography. In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the clear political will of the Republic of Armenia regarding the signing of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan in a short period, also expressed in the latest proposal regarding the draft of the peace treaty.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized RA's interest in unblocking regional channels based on well-known principles. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Poland also discussed the issues of deepening Armenia's partnership with the EU, and the perspectives of cooperation were considered to be in line with the aspirations of Armenian citizens. During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan expressed condolences to his Polish counterpart regarding the recent victims of floods in Poland.
