On September 23, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Montenegrin Foreign Minister Filip Ivanovich in New York. The meeting took place during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that an active political dialogue was developing between the two countries. They emphasized the mutual willingness to continue enriching the bilateral agenda with new areas through joint steps. In this context, tourism, information technologies, and education were pointed out, and Armenia and Montenegro are forming a relevant legal framework to develop cooperation.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Filip Ivanovich discussed issues related to cooperation with the EU. Emphasizing efforts to deepen the partnership with the EU, the interlocutors exchanged ideas on democratic reforms, visa liberalization dialogue, and other issues on the agenda.
Reference was also made to the issues of cooperation on multilateral platforms, as well as to the efforts made to establish stable peace in the South Caucasus.
