Eurojust and Armenia are expanding cooperation

Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan received a delegation from Ladislav Hamran, the President of the EU Criminal Justice Agency (Eurojust).

The minister emphasized cooperation with the European Union Criminal Justice Agency in the criminal justice field in the fight against organized crime, terrorism, money laundering, trafficking, and other serious crimes.

Both parties welcomed ratifying the agreement on legal cooperation in criminal proceedings with Eurojust on September 13, 2024. They also highlighted signing the draft "Working Agreement," which ensured the agreement's implementation on September 23.

Minister Grigor Minasyan emphasized that during the last year, a solid document basis for cooperation has been created between Armenia's law enforcement and justice sphere bodies and the European Union. The deepening of cooperation in the field of personal data protection and other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.

The President of the EU Criminal Justice Agency (Eurojust), Ladislav Hamran, congratulated Armenia on the occasion of its 33rd anniversary of independence and emphasized the establishment of cooperation between Eurojust and Armenia.

Ladislav Hamran also emphasized the importance of Armenia's appointment of a prosecutor for cooperation in Eurojust and presented the ways and opportunities of collaboration.

The parties agreed to continue joint work in the context of justice sector reforms.
