"We are glad that the goddess Anahit has finally arrived in Armenia." Ambassador of the United Kingdom

The British Ambassador John Gallagher, the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan, and the Director of the Museum of History Davit Poghosyan welcomed the bronze statue of the goddess Anahit at the museum's entrance.

"The British Museum handed over the bronze bust of Anahit to the Yerevan History Museum, where it will be displayed alongside the museum's own treasures from September 21 to March 21, 2025. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity for Armenians to connect with their cultural heritage and for visitors from around the world to learn more about Armenia's ancient civilization.

The exhibition is an essential milestone in the cultural exchange between Great Britain and Armenia. It builds on the solid collaboration established last year between the two museums, 'Glamour and Power: Persia to Greece" exhibition, for which the History Museum of Armenia provided several samples to the British Museum.

The British Museum is known for its extensive collection and its desire to share these treasures with a worldwide audience. The museum seeks to collaborate with the public, museums, and academic partners to understand how they can display exhibits closer to their place of origin," the British Embassy in Armenia said in a statement.
