Arman Babajanyan, head of the "For the Republic" party, and his teammates threw eggs, tomatoes, and potatoes toward the Belarusian embassy in Armenia.
The reason for the protest was the statement of the President of Belarus when he said: "Who needs Armenians besides us? No one needs them. Let them develop their economy and focus on what they have."
In a conversation with journalists, Babajanyan expressed his opinion that Lukashenko is playing a dirty game and that Armenia should sever relations with that country. "We could not remain indifferent, and the protest of our small group, I am sure, is the collective attitude of our people." Babajanyan also drew attention to the fact that Lukashenko made his statements after Putin visited Baku.
