Bakoyan highlighted the development of Armenian-German relations

Rustam Bakoyan, Deputy Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs, welcomed the delegation led by Naumburg Mayor Armin Müller and said they have consistently deepened relations with European Union member states, especially recently.

According to him, the start of the dialogue on the liberalization of RA-EU visas was key for Armenia, which will undoubtedly give new momentum to Armenia's stable interaction with the EU member states.

Rustam Bakoyan referred to the violated rights of more than one hundred thousand Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and their protection as a result of the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan. Presenting the support programs implemented by the government for compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, the deputy chairman of the commission emphasized that Armenia expects the support of international partners in the implementation of long-term projects.

"Armenia and Germany have long-standing friendly relations. I attach great importance to the dynamic development of Armenian-German relations and cooperation in all fields," Rustam Bakoyan emphasized.

The commission's deputy chairman informed us that the Armenian government presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project to establish long-term peace and stability in the region. He valued Germany's role in settling Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and strengthening peace in the area.

As a representative of the national minority, Rustam Bakoyan noted that in January last year, the German Bundestag adopted the resolution condemning the 2014 genocide in Sinjar, stressing that it has historical significance for the Yezidi people.

Naumburg Mayor Armin Müller thanked for the warm welcome and noted that cooperation between the two countries is essential. According to his presentation, Naumburg actively cooperates with the city of Armavir, which is trying to implement experience exchange programs in several fields.

Honorary Consul of Armenia in Saxony-Anhalt Mikael Schmidt informed that they had a number of meetings in Armenia and emphasized that Saxony-Anhalt is on the side of the Armenian people. He emphasized the establishment and strengthening of peace.
