Rubinyan and Kilic discussed possibly launching the Akhurik/Akyaka railway border checkpoint.
On July 30, special representatives of the settlement process between Armenia and Turkey, Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, and Ambassador Serdar Kilic held the fifth meeting at the Margara-Alijan border crossing point of the two countries.
They reaffirmed the agreements reached during the previous meetings.
In addition, they agreed to assess the technical needs in line with regional developments to enable the Akhurik/Akyaka railway border crossing to be operational and mutually facilitate visa procedures for holders of diplomatic/official passports.
In the end, they re-emphasized the agreement to continue the settlement process without any preconditions to achieve the ultimate goal of full settlement between the two countries.
