On July 9, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan participated in the "Women, Peace and Security" event organized in connection with the NATO summit in Washington.
Within the framework of the event, Minister Mirzoyan contacted colleagues from the USA, Sweden, Greece, Belgium, Slovakia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Canada, Montenegro, Bahrain, Georgia, and other countries.
Armenia is committed to promoting women's role in building peace and security. The second RA national "action plan" on "Women, peace, and security" issues is in the implementation stage. Among other directions, it addresses increasing women's involvement in the military forces and police system, cyber security programs, and peacekeeping missions, protecting women's and girls' social and economic rights, and protecting the rights of women forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
