"Interconnection will be at the core of the priorities of the RA presidency." Mirzoyan

RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the General Secretary of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, Lazar Comanescu, on July 1, the occasion of Armenia's assumption of the chairmanship of the BSECO, within the framework of the SG's visit to Yerevan.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to RA's cooperation with the BSECO, the priorities of the RA presidency in the organization, and regional economic cooperation. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized this at the beginning of the meeting.

"Your visit is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas about how we can best implement the goals of Armenia's presidency in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, which starts today. Interconnectedness and cooperation within our organization among member countries will not only significantly and tangibly contribute to sustainable economic development. Still, they will also become essential in building peace and stability in the broader region.

Therefore, connectivity will be at the core of our presidency's priorities. Especially when it comes to the South Caucasus, the opening of transport channels, of course, will not only greatly contribute to peace and security and economic cooperation but also help our South Caucasus region better connect to the global network. Here, we greatly count on the presidency and the BSECO for cooperation between the permanent secretariat.

Of course, connectivity is not the only area. We have also cooperated in other fields, such as information technologies, tourism, etc., and we will continue to do so in the future," Mirzoyan noted.
