On June 26, the delegation headed by Alen Simonyan met with President Edgars Rinkevičs within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Latvia. The interlocutors discussed issues related to a wide range of Armenia-EU relations, from current regional challenges to specific aspects of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda.
The Speaker of the RA National Assembly thanked the President of Latvia for his support of Armenia-EU relations and the process of democratic reforms in Armenia, to which Edgars Rinkevičs expressed his willingness to contribute to the rapprochement of Armenia-EU relations, as well as the initiation of visa liberalization dialogue.
Alen Simonyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project initiated by the Armenian government to the President of Latvia, noting that it is our road map to peace. The president of Latvia, for his part, expressed hope that eventually, a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be possible to sign, guaranteeing the lasting peaceful development of the region. Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
