On June 20, Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly, received Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Brazil to the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the guest, Sargis Khandanyan highlighted the development of Armenian-Brazilian interparliamentary relations. The commission's chairman emphasized that despite the distance between the two countries, there is great potential for cooperation in several fields: education, tourism, trade and economy, and security.
At the guests' request, Sargis Khandanyan presented the current security situation in our country and spoke about Armenia's efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The chairman also referred to the programs implemented by the RA government to meet the needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh, highlighting the support of international partners in this matter. Sargis Khandanyan informed the ambassador that the government recently approved the state support program for housing displaced families.
The interlocutors also discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation.
