Alen Simonyan received the German ambassador

On June 18, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan received Victor Richter, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, to Armenia. The ambassador ends his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The head of the parliament thanked the ambassador for the efforts invested in developing Armenia-Germany and Armenia-EU relations. It emphasized the importance of sustainable development and cooperation.

"The multi-layered parliamentary cooperation between the RA National Assembly and the Bundestag, the active mutual visits of the deputies, and the presence of friendly groups in the parliaments are, without a doubt, evidence of a high-level dialogue between our countries," said the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Victor Richter highly appreciated the established cooperation between the two countries and emphasized that inter-parliamentary contacts play a crucial role in deepening relations.

The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus and the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Victor Richter reaffirmed the commitment of the GDR to support the process of peace negotiations.

"The ongoing reforms in the Republic of Armenia and the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus are a political priority," the ambassador noted.

Thoughts were exchanged on the perspectives and current programs for expanding Armenia-Germany cooperation. Cooperation in the cultural, educational, economic, and energy spheres was emphasized.
