"The Armenian-Turkish border checkpoint is ready. We have not seen steps from the Turkish side." Rubinyan

NA Vice President Ruben Rubinyan referred to Armenian-Turkish relations, mainly the agreement reached in July 2022, according to which the Armenian-Turkish land border should be opened for citizens of third countries.

"We have completed all infrastructural works; the checkpoint is ready for operation. We have not seen any steps towards implementing this agreement from the Turkish side. But we hope that they will be done," he said.

Rubinyan asked if Turkey could put forward preconditions for normalizing relations. "I don't want to comment on why something happens or doesn't happen. I say that we have an agreement to open the land border for citizens of third countries and holders of diplomatic passports. And we expect that this agreement will be implemented."
