"Peace, security and economic development." Mirzoyan on RA priorities

The RA MFA reported that the meeting was held with the expanded composition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the General Secretary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Chan Ming.

Both sides noted with satisfaction that this is the first visit to Armenia at the level of the organization's secretary general, expressing hope that the discussions during the visit will contribute to the expansion of opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and the SCO.

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that RA attaches great importance to the principles of sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, inviolability of state borders, and non-use or threat of force, which are the basis of SCO activities.

"Peace, security, and economic development - this is what Armenia is trying to implement in our region, and I must report with satisfaction that for us, the cornerstone principles and the vision of peace coincide with the key approach of the SCO," stressed Ararat Mirzoyan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the General Secretary of the SCO exchanged ideas on developing economic and transport channels and logistics networks. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the "Crossroads of Peace" program developed by the RA Government, with its goals and opportunities, can be an essential component of the trade-economic cooperation and transport interconnection agenda within the framework of the SCO.

Referring to the security environment in the South Caucasus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia presented to the interlocutor the latest developments in the process of regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, including the Republic of Armenia's vision and the efforts being made regarding the signing of a peace treaty.
