RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with Josep Borell, Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on the telephone. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues.
In the context of the partnership between RA and the European Union, both sides emphasized the importance of implementing already-formed cooperation programs and reaching a new milestone in additional directions. In this context, reference was made to the "Armenia's Resilience and Growth" EU program developed due to the meeting in Brussels on April 5 of this year and the steps taken to implement the new RA-EU partnership agenda.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia also emphasized the importance of making a final decision regarding initiating the dialogue on the liberalization of the RA-EU visas. Reference was made to the upcoming activities and tasks on the agenda.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Josep Borell exchanged thoughts on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Referring to the border delimitation process between the two countries and the written agreements between the respective commissions, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the need to continue the method based on the 1991 Alma-Ata declaration, as was also announced at the level of the two countries leaders.
Presenting the discussions on the draft peace treaty, the head of the RA foreign political department emphasized that a final agreement can be reached by reflecting the agreements reached in the draft treaty. Reference was made to other issues of mutual interest.
