RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that they are reproducing the de jure borders that existed at the time of the collapse of the USSR. "There is a lot of talk about the demarcation works of 1988. Those works, which it is customary to call the work carried out by the committee led by Vladimir Movsisyan, are recorded in the documents formed by the committee, when and how this work de jure enters into force, and with that description, it did not enter into force de jure, it has no legal force because he did not go to the General Assembly, he did not go through other procedures," he said, emphasizing that no maps were drawn up based on that work, no mapping took place.
He presented the 1976 map of the Armed Forces of the USSR, emphasizing that it was verified and approved by the USSR's authorized body. "These maps have a very important and significant role in the further development of the independence and sovereignty of our state."
According to Pashinyan, careful work was done, and the entire perimeter of the RA was reproduced on 19 pages of maps. "Through this, we emphasized our sovereign territory, reproduced the border lines, and, moreover, provided de jure justified papers."
