The foreign ministers of Armenia and Canada discussed regional issues

On May 8, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Jolie about regional issues.

Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments regarding the regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the border demarcation process, emphasizing the principle of territorial integrity and the 1991 importance of a clear commitment to the Declaration of Alma-Ata.

Referring to the prospects of sustainable economic development in the South Caucasus, the head of the RA Foreign Ministry emphasized RA's interest in unblocking regional channels and the opportunities provided by implementing the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the RA government.

Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the critical principles of sovereignty, national jurisdiction, reciprocity, and equality, which are the basis of the program. Reference was also made to issues of a humanitarian nature.
