"There is cautious optimism." Mirzoyan ahead of the meeting with Bayramov (VIDEO)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan stated that Armenia is involved in negotiations with Azerbaijan "sincerely, constructively and with goodwill." According to him, the establishment of final peace is in the interests of both countries and peoples.

Mirzoyan expressed cautious optimism regarding the upcoming negotiations. "We managed to reach an agreement on many articles and issues. Parallel processes also take place. our border commissions are meeting, the demarcation process has started, we have agreed on the principle. The leaders of our two countries had many meetings and again agreed on several key issues, for example, the most important thing is that the two countries mutually reaffirm the recognition of each other's territorial integrity in 1991. On the basis of the declaration of Alma Ata, the delimitation should also take place on the basis of that declaration. This is also reflected in the work of border commissions. Mirzoyan expressed cautious optimism that it will be possible to reach an agreement with the Azerbaijani partner. "Or reflect this same loyalty and principle in the peace agreement. After that, we will be very close to the settlement of peace."

Mirzoyan referred to the unblocking of transport routes, saying there is no complete mutual understanding with Azerbaijan.

"On these issues, I think we will manage to come to an agreement sooner or later, because there is a certain mutual understanding in the case of heads of states and deputy prime ministers. If we manage to clearly record all this in the peace agreement, I can say that we are reaching a place in terms of establishing a lasting peace.
