A telephone conversation between Pashinyan and Blinken took place. What issues were discussed?

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the agenda of Armenia-US bilateral relations, the April 5 meeting in Brussels, and the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.

Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed his satisfaction with the activation of Armenia-US bilateral relations. The prime minister also emphasized the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels on April 5, stressing that these agreements were expressed in the press release following the meeting, and the meeting did not have any secret agenda.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also spoke positively about the process of demarcation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border, stressing that the concerns of the residents of Voskepar, Kirants, and Berkaber villages of Tavush region are understandable, and everything will be done to address their legitimate concerns.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the agreements reached during the quadrilateral meeting in Prague on October 6, 2022 in the context of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process. The recognition of each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty by Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Alma-Ata Declaration, as well as the implementation of the process of demarcation and delimitation based on the same declaration, paves the way for the signing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty.

The "Crossroads of Peace" project was also discussed. Prime Minister Pashinyan once again emphasized that it expresses the agreement of EU Council President Charles Michel, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his own agreements in July 2023 in Brussels that regional communications should be opened based on the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries, on the principle of equality and reciprocity. These arrangements are expressed in President Michel's statement following the above meeting.
