Regular direct flights with Saudi Arabia have been highlighted

On April 17, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in Riyadh.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of the development of political dialogue between Armenia and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the organization of a high-level visit after establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries is the best evidence of the desire to deepen cooperation.

At the meeting, both sides emphasized their willingness to promote the development of cooperation in specific areas of mutual interest, actively enrich the bilateral agenda, and form a corresponding legal treaty base.

The Foreign Ministers of RA and Saudi Arabia discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, tourism, education, and information technologies, as well as the protection of cultural values. They emphasized the importance of regular direct flights, which also contribute to promoting people-to-people contacts and business ties.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud also discussed cooperation issues within the framework of international organizations on multilateral platforms, including in the context of holding "World Expo 2030."

The head of the RA foreign political department emphasized that Armenia is developing political dialogue and partnerships with all Arab countries, which was demonstrated by its participation in the ministerial meeting of the Arab League for the first time last year. "We must fill the gap of promising interaction with Saudi Arabia through joint efforts."

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Saudi Arabia also exchanged ideas on regional issues. Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his colleague the latest developments in regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the negotiations on the draft peace treaty, and Armenia's position on critical issues.

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is intensely interested in increasing logistics interdependence, which means both economic benefit and stability, in the context of unblocking transport and economic channels in the region. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan brought to the attention of his colleague the "Crossroads of Peace" program developed by the RA government.
