Lithuania is ready to support the peace process

On April 17, the delegation led by RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, during an official visit to Vilnius.

The meeting started with a discussion of security problems in the region, specifically the security situation in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus.

Alen Simonyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project proposed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the Lithuanian diplomat, emphasizing its importance in establishing peace in the South Caucasus and creating trade and economic opportunities for the region's countries.

The "Crossroads of Peace" project is our road map to peace. The goal of the project is the development of regional communications based on the principles of sovereignty, reciprocity, and equality, which will significantly improve the economic and security situation," said Alen Simonyan.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas on the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations, Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, and the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan.

"Lithuania is ready to support the peace process in every possible way," noted Gabrielius Landsbergis.

Reference was made to the rapprochement of Armenia-EU relations, particularly in the defense, trade, and economic spheres.

At the end of the meeting, Alen Simonyan made a note in the Register of Honorary Guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
