Political scientist Areg Kocharyan stated during the parliamentary hearings that it will take years for Armenia to become a candidate for EU membership, and work must be done in that direction.
He also referred to the reinterpretation of Armenia's relations with the Russian Federation. "For years, there was one argument - the security argument, which was the hook by which Armenia was attached to the Russian Federation. It bothers me that in recent months, years, the content of the hook has changed, but the hook has remained the same: the content of that new hook is financial, economic attachment."
