"There is no such number map that will describe our entire border." Nikol Pashinyan

The topic of maps is very complicated, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the National Assembly-Government question-and-answer session.

"There is no map of one year. There is a line on the map, along which RA and Azerbaijan agreed on different parts of the border in different years. There is no one-year map that will depict the entire length of our border with de jure and legal significance," said the Prime Minister.

According to him, the wording about the map in our favor is at least not correct. The Almaty Declaration refers to the most recent legally binding maps of the Soviet Union.

"You say, there is no map of which number, such a number of maps that will describe our entire border line?" There is no such thing as a unified map of the main headquarters of the Soviet Union. There are political records, for which there is no particular problem, such and such a map," said Pashinyan.

He added that first of all it is necessary to clarify what a map means, because users of social networks print maps from the press, books, and encyclopedias and say: look, it's a map.

"And when the cartographer speaks, he says, it is a paper that some of the audience cannot understand what is depicted without additional professional help. There can be 300 different maps of the same number from the maps posted on social networks. We got 29,800 from the title page of the encyclopedia, under which it is written 29,743, this is the number that was approved as the land balance of RA," explained the Prime Minister.
