"The demarcation commission will answer whether the territories belong or not." Ghalumyan

In a briefing with journalists,Vahe Ghalumyan, deputy of the KP faction of the National Assembly, said: "Demarcation and demarcation, as far as I know, should be done in Tavush."

In response to the question of which areas can appear in Azerbaijani territory, Ghalumyan said there are no such villages in Armenia and then emphasized that it is a delicate and sensitive issue.

According to Ghalumyan, the demarcation commission will answer the question of whether the territories belong or not. According to his observation, there is no question about the territory of Armenia, which is 29,800 km2. And to the question of whether these territories are under the control of Armenia, Ghalumyan said that being under Armenian control is absolutely irrelevant; there is international law. "There are many Armenian lands from the Tavush region under Azerbaijan's rule. Azerbaijanis inhabited the mentioned villages, and the 31 villages that Pashinyan is talking about are open fields, grasslands, and arable lands."

He also noted that "there are no Armenian settlements there. They were Azerbaijani villages that came under the control of the Republic of Armenia in the 1990s, but no Armenians lived there. I am not sure that there is a house there. If there are, they will receive a solution from the state. All this is part of the peace process. We need to find solutions and solve this issue once and for all."

According to the MP, this issue has always been on the agenda. "The issue of the villages of Tavush was in the statement of November 9, 2020, which was later removed by the efforts of the RA government and became the subject of further discussion. They always talked about this."

The deputy also added, "In 2000, I worked in the largest enterprise of the Tavush region, the "Ijevan" brand, and since 2020, we have changed the Ijevan-Noyemberyan road section 3-4 times at the request of Azerbaijan. And what Vardan Oskanyan said cannot be true. If necessary, I will tell you in years and dates how we changed the road in which section, why, and at whose request."
