"Mr. Rustamyan, whose side are you on now? CSTO, which does not want to say that Armenia's borders were violated, or Armenia?" Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this at the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations meeting in response to the question of Armen Rustamyan, deputy of the opposition "Hayastan" faction. "Yes, due to circumstances, we did not participate in the CSTO in the same way as we presented to the National Assembly in 2021."
According to the minister's explanation, there was an attack on Armenia, and the borders of Armenia were violated, "And the security organization, where we have agreed with several other countries, should say that in such cases we should say that such a fact has occurred and not military, but political-diplomatic actions, and if it is not possible to solve this issue politically - through diplomatic means, then military mutual aid. In this organization, in the conditions when we were attacked, our borders were violated, and we did not receive an adequate response from the partners who have these obligations."
