"Statements related to the red line are a red light of alarm for us." prime minister

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan answered Radar Armenia's question.

Question. Mr. Prime Minister, in analytical and political circles, it is constantly being discussed whether Russia's position in the region has weakened. They even claim that Russia is leaving the region. On the contrary, Lavrov says that Russia has vital interests in this region. By the way, you are probably the most knowledgeable about Russia's attitude towards the region. Is it your impression that Russia is leaving and a vacuum is being created in the region? Do we have the challenge of Russia leaving on our agenda as a state, or are we dealing with an artificial agenda?

Answer: I once expressed a similar thought about the CSTO. I described CSTO's inactivity in 2021-22. to the events. What impression can it leave on the analysts, it is clear that this conclusion should be reached. Of course, regarding the statements, the Russian Federation says that they are not going to leave this region, but you also ask what you know about the sentiments. Russia has told us that the sovereign territory and de jure borders of Armenia are a red line for them. Let's compare those two statements. Can the analyst come to that conclusion?

According to the Prime Minister, the Russian Federation has declared that the sovereign territory of Armenia is a red line, but it has not been implemented in practice, therefore, one can think that the said statement is just a statement, and there is no question that it will be implemented.

According to him, at the beginning of the 20th century, the Armenian people faced such a situation. "We all know what the consequences were. And the situation with the red line is a red alarm light for us, that something is wrong here."
