Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated during a press conference with Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias that defense cooperation has its place in the relations between Armenia and Greece.
According to Papikyan, it is carried out in directions of mutual interest, some of which are traditional and have been carried out since the very beginning of cooperation in the field of defense between the two countries formed after Armenia's independence, and the other part in new areas formed as a result of agreements.
"I extended to Mr. Dendias the process of defense reforms taking place in Armenia and highlighted the need for expert and practical support from friendly Greece. During the meeting, we discussed issues related to military-technical cooperation; in particular, during my visit to Greece in December 2023, we emphasized giving a new lease of life after the signing of the agreement on military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Greece," the minister said, adding: "We discussed Armenia-Cyprus-Greece trilateral cooperation. We referred to the possibilities of cooperation in a multilateral format with other friendly countries that share the same values. We emphasized the cooperation between Armenia and Greece within the framework of NATO and the EU."
