"Azerbaijan sells Russian gas to Europe through its pipelines. This is a fact," said NA Speaker Alen Simonyan in his briefing.
He noted that ally Russia has not protected Armenia for a long time. "At best, he does not defend; if not, he is in a joint process. And I am sure that there is a joint process, and for a long time, and I am sure, the war in Ukraine started with the Nagorno-Karabakh war. It was necessary to find an alternative way to avoid possible sanctions, which is being done now: Azerbaijan sells Russian gas to Europe through its pipelines.
He did not rule out an agreement between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. "No one should be surprised that RA is trying to preserve its independence, and the Armenian people entered into that plan, that in 2021 they elected the government that, according to the plan, had to leave so that a new government would come, so that we would become members. to the trade union. This was the plan."
According to Simonyan, Armenia's concern is Azerbaijan's steps against its sovereignty. "The Armenian people, you don't know what they did in 2021. The people solve geopolitical issues of their choice. Unknowingly or, perhaps, knowingly, he overturned a great geopolitical plan."
He said the plan was to bring Armenia into the Russia-Belarus Union, which failed.
When asked whether Armenia was officially offered such a proposal, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan said. "No, they don't do that. They are creating such a situation that the new government will say, "Well, the previous ones are to blame, that is, in this case, us, and there is no other security solution than to become a member of the Russian-Belarus Union state."
