Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the Prime Minister of Iraq

Within the framework of the official visit to Iraq, the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Iraq Muhammad Shia Al Sudani.

The Prime Minister of Iraq, welcoming the President of Armenia, said: "Dear Mr. President, your visit to Iraq, the visit of the President of the Republic of Iraq to your country, the continuous meetings that are taking place, among which I would single out your meetings in Davos, and the meeting with my colleague, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in Munich, are indicators of the close relationship between our countries. for the further development of relationships and the potential within those relationships."

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted. "Dear Mr. Prime Minister, I fully agree that the visit of the President of Iraq, which took place in November last year, and my visit to Armenia will serve as an impetus for the development of relations between our countries. I am also sure that our meetings will have practical significance and results."

During the meeting, the interaction potential between Armenia and Iraq in economy, energy, high technologies, electronic management systems, tourism, healthcare and other fields was discussed and the need to activate steps towards its implementation.

During the conversation, the parties highly appreciated the role of the Iraqi-Armenian community in the mutual recognition of the two countries and peoples, which is an essential basis for further strengthening of relations.

Both sides emphasized the close historical and cultural relations of the two peoples, which contributes to the continuous development of friendship and partnership.

At the meeting, thoughts were exchanged on the general regional situation and current developments. The parties emphasized the imperative to settle the existing problems and challenges through peaceful negotiations and within the framework of the supremacy of international fundamental rights and norms.
