The importance of the return of persons detained in Azerbaijan was emphasized.

On February 26, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Miryana Spolyarich Eger, in Geneva.

Issues related to addressing the needs and rights of forcibly displaced people as a result of the military attack and ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh in September last year and the scope of cooperation with the ICRC on humanitarian issues were discussed.

Minister Mirzoyan particularly emphasized the importance of the return of the persons held in Azerbaijan, as well as the disclosure of the fates of the missing and forcibly disappeared persons, reaffirming the readiness of the Armenian side to cooperate on the issue.

During the meeting, the current security situation in the South Caucasus and the efforts made by Armenia to establish peace and stability in the region were also discussed.
