The Prime Minister met with the leaders of a group of prominent French companies

On February 22, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan continued his working visit to France. During his visit, he met with the leaders of a group of prominent French companies operating in various fields at the "Elite Club of Political Dialogue."

During the meeting, the Prime Minister spoke about Armenia's rates of economic development, the government's programs and steps taken to improve the business environment, the possibilities of investment programs, and the prospects of economic activity.

The Prime Minister shared that Armenia's state budget revenues almost doubled compared to 2018, with an increase of over 90 percent. He expressed that significant changes have taken place to reduce the shadow and improve the competitive situation in the country. In 2023, Armenia's economic growth was 8.7 percent, and in 2022, it was 12.6 percent. Additionally, since 2018, 180,000 new jobs have been created, which is a 30 percent increase in total employment. Armenia's GDP per person has improved significantly, and they are now in first place in the South Caucasus.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the significance of investments and economic cooperation with France, mentioning the presence of companies such as "Pernod Ricard," several other companies in Armenia's banking system, and "Veolia." He expressed hope that new companies from France will come to Armenia to operate in various fields.

The Prime Minister drew attention to the plan to build 300 schools and 500 kindergartens in Armenia, worth $1 billion or more. He also mentioned the "Academic City" project, aiming to create and establish a new city in higher education.

The Prime Minister expressed his interest in serious investment projects in the field of developed industry, particularly in information technology. He shared that evident progress has been made in the field of tourism, with the inflow of tourists exceeding the 2019 indicator. Additionally, the winemaking industry is developing well, with significant investment potential.

The Prime Minister discussed cooperation and possibilities of project implementation in construction, infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, high technologies, and industry. He answered the questions of the companies participating in the meeting and had separate meetings with the heads of Thales, IDEMIA, "Pernod Ricard," and Societe des Troia-Valles.
