Within the framework of strengthening Armenian-French relations in the field of defense, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorne will visit Armenia today and tomorrow.
"France and Armenia maintain historic friendly relations, but relations in the defense sector have not reached the level of intensity of bilateral relations," the French Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement, clarifying that this is the first visit of a French minister to Armenia in history.
"Le Figaro" informs that the first batch of French ammunition will be delivered to Armenia today, which the parties agreed on back in October 2023.
Among them will be night vision devices of the Safran company, GM200 radars, which will allow to detect enemy aircraft from a distance of 250 km.
It is also planned that the French army will organize three mountain combat training courses for Armenians.
