I see legitimacy in the internationally recognized borders of Armenia, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Public Radio.
He emphasized that every country has the right to have a solid and capable army. "I say that we should strengthen our army to protect our country's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence. The territorial integrity of our country is the territorial integrity of the Armenian SSR," the Prime Minister noted.
According to him, if we say that we are strengthening the army in order, for example, to restore historical justice, a straightforward question arises. Why should others allow that army to grow strong?
"We should not send such messages to the world. The issue of legitimacy is essential. Legitimate from the point of view of international perception, not so much from the point of view of domestic perception, but from the international point of view.
If there is dissonance in our internal and external perceptions, this is where the security threat is generated. To address that threat, the gap must be closed so that a rift does not arise between these two and the negative energy that leads to the security threat and its implementation does not occur there," Pashinyan said.
