The ban on Armenian aircraft flying through Turkish airspace has not been lifted

The ban on transit flights through Turkish airspace for aircraft with Armenian registration numbers has remained. This was reported by the civil aviation committee in response to Radar Armenia's inquiry, noting that to settle the issue, letters were sent to international organizations operating in the field, in particular the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and EUROCONTROL.

At the same time, it is reported that there were no negotiations with the Turkish side regarding the mentioned issue.

It should be noted that, in May 2023, Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu announced that Turkey is closing its air route, including for Armenian government aircraft. It should be noted that on April 29, the Turkish aviation authorities, without prior notice, canceled the permission given to the Flyone Armenia airline in advance to carry out flights to Europe through Turkish airspace.

In June 2022, Armenia and Turkey agreed to open the land border for citizens of third countries as soon as possible.
