"Aggressive rhetoric from Azerbaijan does not indicate mutual commitment." Mirzoyan to Sanader

On January 18, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Zagreb on an official visit, met with Ante Sanader, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia. The vice chairman of the parliament's foreign relations committee, who is also the chairman of the Armenian-Croatian parliamentary friendship group, the chairman of the European affairs committee, and other members of the parliament took part in the meeting.

At the meeting, friendly ties between the Armenian and Croatian peoples and cultural and historical commonalities were emphasized, which created a basis for building close relations between the two countries and expanding political dialogue.

The interlocutors referred to the recent active contacts between Armenia and Croatia, including the participation of the RA Foreign Minister in the Dubrovnik Forum in Croatia last year and the discussions held within it. They emphasized that this year is marked by the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Croatia, expressing confidence that with joint efforts, it will be possible to make the most of the existing potential of expanding the partnership between the two countries.

Parliamentary cooperation in a bilateral format, as well as active interaction on various multilateral platforms, were emphasized.

The interlocutors also referred to the existing cooperation within the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership. RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the steps taken by the RA government in the direction of democratic reforms in RA and the prospects of cooperation with the EU to benefit RA citizens' well-being.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented the latest developments and the current situation in the South Caucasus. Mirzoyan emphasized that RA's efforts to establish stability and peace in the region and the vision are based on well-known principles, noting that the aggressive rhetoric from Azerbaijan at the highest level does not indicate mutual commitment.

Referring to the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that despite the messages addressed to the RA and international community, including various parliaments, it was not possible to prevent the forced displacement of more than 100 thousand Armenians, which once again emphasized the need for concrete actions to curb the aggressive policy. Importance.

As part of the peace agenda and a comprehensive approach to unblocking regional channels, the RA Foreign Minister also referred to the "Crossroads of Peace" program developed by the RA government. There was an exchange of ideas; Minister Mirzoyan answered other questions of interest to the parliamentarians.
