"Let's sign an arms control agreement." Pashinyan's new offer to Azerbaijan

At the session of the initiative group of the "Civil Contract" party, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, made a new proposal to Azerbaijan.

In his speech, he noted that after getting acquainted with Azerbaijan's proposals, one sometimes feels that an attempt is being made to create a document that will legitimize future wars. The Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan is offered to withdraw its troops to ensure security but is refused, and it is provided to demilitarize the border regions but is refused.

"I can make an offer. Let's sign an arms control agreement so that Armenia and Azerbaijan reach a concrete agreement regarding arms. In other words, they should have the opportunity to monitor the implementation of each other's agreements," the Prime Minister said.

He added that, until now, Armenia and Azerbaijan mainly spoke different diplomatic languages. According to him, there will always be forces not interested in peace, but the positioning of the country's leaders and the speech they use are essential here.
