The RA Ambassador to Lithuania, Ara Margaryan, was received by the Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania, Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen. The RA Embassy in Lithuania reported this.
"The latter congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and assured his readiness to support the further development and rapprochement of Armenian-Lithuanian friendly relations. Speaker Cmilyte-Nielsen especially emphasized the role of inter-parliamentary relations in this matter.
Ambassador Margaryan, for his part, thanked me for the warm reception. He referred in detail to the latest developments in Armenian-Lithuanian relations, emphasizing 2023 as an exceptional year from the point of view of political dialogue and bilateral high-level visits. The ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of the RA government to activate further and deepen partnership and strategic ties both bilaterally and with the EU.
Ambassador Margaryan expressed his gratitude to the Lithuanian authorities for supporting Armenia in this critical and challenging period and supporting the RA government's radical reforms and peace agendas.
The parties also referred to regional developments and efforts to establish lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus. In this context, the role of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was especially emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, Seimas expressed hope to host his Armenian counterpart in Vilnius shortly," the post says.
