The RA Embassy in Greece reported that Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis made a statement to the Greek public television station ERT and journalist Katerina Frisa after his official visit to Armenia.
"Today, I had the opportunity to visit Armenia and meet with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Secretary of the Security Council. At the same time, I visited the diplomatic representation of Greece in Yerevan.
Greece has historical ties with Armenia, ties with centuries of history. It is a friendly country to us. In the context of this eternal friendship, Greece always provides the necessary solidarity and security to Armenia. Especially today, when territorial integrity is under severe pressure due to events in the South Caucasus.
As a symbol and a provider of good services to Armenia on behalf of Greece, it is essential to help our friendly and ally country on all international platforms. To preserve world cultural heritage, the European Union and UNESCO were required to provide a sustainable solution that upholds the principles of the UN Charter on territorial integrity, the inviolability of borders, and the avoidance of any hostile act.
It is fundamental for the Greek government, the Greek state, to support anyone under protection from any aggression," the statement said.
