Against the backdrop of Louis Bono's South Caucasus negotiations, official Washington has announced that it is ready to support any process that will bring peace to the region. Responding to the request of the "Voice of America" Armenian service regarding the goals and expectations of Louis Bono's visit to the South Caucasus, the US Department of State stated:
"We cannot give details. Senior Adviser on Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono frequently travels to the region to discuss US support for peace and how best to achieve a lasting and dignified peace. Mr. Bono speaks regularly with several key representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan to support the peace process. We are ready to support any process that brings peace and stability to the peoples of the South Caucasus."
