On December 16, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan received Tatiana Molchan, Executive Secretary of the UN European Economic Commission. Roel Janssens, responsible for the economic affairs of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Robert Khachatryan presented the history of creating the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry and the areas of responsibility. Thanking the European Economic Commission for its continuous support, he particularly emphasized the "Innovation for Sustainable Development" prepared by the organization. The importance of the Innovation for Sustainable Development: Review of Armenia 2023 report. Robert Khachatryan also talked about the cooperation with other international structures in developing the high-tech industry development strategy, adding that the EEC report will also be used during the strategy development.
Tatyana Molchan highly appreciated the practical cooperation with the Ministry, spoke about the EEC report, and noted the readiness of the European Economic Commission and various international partners to support the implementation of the recommendations contained in it.
The executive secretary of the EEC also conveyed the willingness of Darren Tang, Secretary General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to implement joint projects with Armenia in the fields of intellectual property and innovation.
