On December 5, Ambassador Lilit Makunts met with US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (Democrat-Rhode Island). The ambassador thanked the senator for supporting and initiating legislative projects and letters related to issues of importance to Armenia.
During the meeting, issues related to regional security, the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, and bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the United States were discussed.
