On November 30, within the framework of the OSCE ministerial forum, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis. Continuing the meeting held in New York in September, the heads of the foreign departments of Armenia and Switzerland discussed issues related to the security situation in the South Caucasus.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that using force and continuous violations of international law creates an atmosphere of impunity, which does not eliminate the possibility of similar challenges in the South Caucasus and other regions. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the imperative of Azerbaijan's denial of such practices and the importance of firm support for efforts to achieve peace in the South Caucasus.
Minister Mirzoyan also presented to his colleague the steps taken to adequately address the needs and rights of the more than 100,000 Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. Regarding the bilateral cooperation, Ararat Mirzoyan appreciated the practical collaboration formed with the Swiss Development Agency and the support for implementing various programs in Armenia.
