"The peace agreement can be signed within 15 days." President of the National Assembly
NA Speaker Alen Simonyan announced that the peace agreement is close. According to Simonyan, if Baku shows political will, the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be concluded within the next 15 days.
"If desired, the peace agreement can be concluded within the next 15 days if the government of Azerbaijan shows political will. It can be said that we have reached an agreement on almost all fundamental issues. I don't want to give additional details and thereby harm the process," he said.
The Speaker of the National Assembly said that the peace agreement is wholly based on international principles, including issues of territorial integrity and the opening of communications.
"I don't understand what delaying will do to Azerbaijan and the region when, with one hand, they are talking about peace and, with the other hand, they are avoiding the peace treaty, which is already very close to reality," he said.
