"Our number one playing card is democracy, rule of law, freedom of speech, and protection of people's rights," announced Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in response to the question of returning what was looted by the former authorities.
According to the Prime Minister, the most essential feature of a democratic government should be restraint and the ability to limit itself.
He emphasized the importance of creating institutions and putting problems before them. "Demand justice and fairness," he said.
According to Pashinyan, criminals will not escape and will inevitably be punished. "The institutional approach is to create mechanisms to punish the guilty. Be me, be someone else, be you." He assured that punishing a specific person is not a political goal. "It is a political goal to have justice in the country."
According to Pashinyan, there are dozens of trials but no verdicts.
He noted that he has a constitutional ban: he has the right to perform only those he is authorized to do. According to the Prime Minister, if that border is crossed, we will have a dictatorship instead of a democracy. "We face challenges only thanks to democracy."
