The control of a third country cannot be established over any part of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. RA MFA
RA MFA Spokesperson Ani Badalyan responded to the statement of the official representative of the RF MFA.
"The Government of the Republic of Armenia recently published the "Crossroads of Peace" project, from the fundamental principles of which it is clear that in the event of the opening of regional communications, the Republic of Armenia must implement border and customs control in its territory through its state institutions.
In addition, a special department was recently created in the RA NSS, whose task is to ensure the safety of these communications and the passage of goods, cargo, vehicles, and people in case of the opening of regional communications.
The Republic of Armenia has never agreed to any limitation of its sovereignty by any document, and control over a third country cannot be established over any part of its sovereign territory.
Earlier, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation is called to carry out the control of communication opening from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan according to tripartite agreements.
