"There is cautious optimism regarding the conclusion of the 2024 peace agreement." Papoyan

In a briefing with journalists, KP vice president and deputy of the NA KP faction, Gevorg Papoyan, referred to the statements from Azerbaijan about 8 villages.

"Armenia has never promised anything; Armenia has declared that it is ready for delimitation and demarcation of borders with the maps of 1974-1975, and, for example, according to those maps, there are 7-8 villages in the same Tavush whose arable lands are completely under the control of Azerbaijan," he said.

Papoyan assures that one of the most important provisions of the peace treaty is to record the territorial integrity of Armenia with an area of 29,800 km², the unblocking of roads, and lasting peace. "In this context, there should be no clauses in the peace agreement that could contain bombs. There should be such an agreement that does not cause other problems or the possibility of a new war," he said.

According to Gevorg Papoyan, there is cautious optimism regarding the conclusion of the 2024 peace agreement, "By and large, there is an understanding of basic, key issues. The only issue on which there was no understanding was the so-called issue of the corridor. But that issue, in my impression, has at least been left out of the public statements of Azerbaijan and Turkey, and they say that they don't need it because they have found an economically more convenient way."
