The Kingdom of the Netherlands is ready to support justice professionals displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh

Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan received Jaap Frederiks, Chargé d'affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in Armenia.
The minister thanked the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the support shown to the reforms in the justice sector, as well as for the statement made by the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on October 27 before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regarding the strengthening of ties with Armenia.

Grigor Minasyan noted the importance of the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the implementation of the measures aimed at the application of the Statute of the International Criminal Court (Rome Statute), ratified on October 3.
Jaap Frederiks confirmed the readiness of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to support the Republic of Armenia in all matters related to the implementation of the Rome Statute.

The parties also discussed the existing agenda of cooperation in various directions of the justice sector, as well as the prospects for its strengthening and development. In particular, reference was made to the possible support directions during the reforms of the probation and penitentiary sectors.
The parties have also outlined cooperation in judicial, human resource development, and other work areas. The possibility of cooperation in checking the excellent conduct of judges was especially emphasized.

The parties mentioned the critical role of the long-term "Assistance to the Implementation of the Strategy of the Penal System in the Republic of Armenia" (ASPIRA) program of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in reorganizing the sector from penal to rehabilitation.

Possible directions of support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the issues of legal status, social support, and integration of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh were discussed on both sides. The commitment to providing job opportunities to people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, in particular, to professionals in the justice field, was highlighted.
