Today is the anniversary of the October 27 crime

Today is the 24th anniversary of the crime of October 27. In 1999, on this day, during the NA-government question-and-answer session, the gang led by Nairi Hunanyan invaded the parliament. They killed Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Vice Presidents Yuri Bakhshyan and Ruben Miroyan. The Minister of Operational Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Henrik Abrahamyan, Mikayel Kotanyan, and Armenak Armenakyan also fell victim to terrorism. 8 more people were wounded by the bullets fired by the members of the terrorist group.

The terrorist group took the ministers and deputies hostage in the National Assembly hall. Only the next day, they put down their weapons and surrendered.

In December 2003, the court sentenced Hunanyan and 5 members of his gang to life imprisonment; another gang member was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Let's note that even 24 years after the crime, the answer has not been given to who was behind this, and the suspicions have just been dispelled now.
